Add member and client logins
Give other people their own login to the brain, each limited to what its role may see. You need an admin login.
There are three login roles: Admin (a co-owner), Member (your team) and Client (people at your client company). What each one sees is on Who can use a brain.
Each item has a level. A login sees an item only when the item’s level allows it, so set levels before you let anyone in. See Team and members.
Invite a member
- Open Team in the menu, then the Invites tab.
- Click Invite by email, enter the email and, if you like, a name.
- Click Create invite.
- Copy the Invite link and send it to the person.
The person opens the link, sets a password and is signed in. The link works once, for 72 hours. A new invite for the same person replaces the old link.
You can also make a member directly: Settings > Logins > Add login, set Role to Member, and give them the email and starting password yourself.
Members can chat only after you set the team agent to Team level once. See Team and members for the one command.
Add a client
- Open Team, then the What clients see tab. Check the list of items clients will read and click I have checked this list.
- Open the Clients tab and click Add client.
- Pick a contact, or type an email. Click Add client.
- For the new client, click Issue sign-in link, copy the Sign-in link and send it.
The client opens the link and types their email to sign in. The link works once, for 72 hours.
To let clients sign in with an emailed code instead, pick a mail account under Send codes from on the Clients tab. The account must be able to send mail. A small core box has no email worker, so codes do not work there.
Add another admin
Open Settings > Logins, click Add login, set Role to Admin, and enter the email and a starting password.
End someone’s access
- Settings > Logins: select the login and switch on Disabled. Every session it holds ends at once.
- Sign out everywhere on the same screen ends all sessions but keeps the login.
- For a client, End sessions or Disable on the Clients tab also cancels its open sign-in links. Disable keeps the client’s chat and comments. Delete removes them.
Check it worked
The new login appears in Settings > Logins. After the person signs in, the row shows a Last login time.
